Get in the mood for Christmas at Sandwell Parks

Published 29th November 2022

Sandwell has some of the region’s most scenic parks and there are three fantastic festive events coming up in the next few weeks.

The events will be taking place at Lightwoods House and Park, Haden Hill House and Park, and the Pavilion at the newly-restored West Smethwick Park.

  • Christmas market at Lightwoods Park – Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 December from 2pm-8pm

Visitors will be able to see Lightwoods House lit up for Christmas and enjoy music and entertainment as well as festive food and drink.

A range of bespoke craft stalls offer the chance to get that perfect Christmas gift.

Free entry

  • Christmas evening at Haden Hill House and Park – Saturday 10 December from 5pm-9pm

Families can enjoy a Christmas night out with a big countdown to Haden Hill House being illuminated with special lighting effects.

Plus there will be live stage music and entertainers, fair rides, community stalls and a licensed bar and food and drink.

Please note this is a separate ticketed event in addition to day time visits to Haden Hill House Museum.

Tickets are £5 for adults, children (under 12 years) free. Book online via the Visit Sandwell Haden Hill webpage

  • Christmas evening at West Smethwick Park – Saturday 17 December from 2pm-8pm

Visitors can get in the Christmas mood at the new Pavilion Building in the heart of the beautifully-restored West Smethwick Park.

There will be live music and entertainment, festive food and drink along with craft and community stalls.

Councillor Laura Rollins, Sandwell’s cabinet member for leisure and tourism, said: “These lively events in three of our beautiful parks offer families and friends the ideal opportunity to enjoy some time together in the open air as the countdown to Christmas gets underway, and do some Christmas shopping if you’re looking for that special gift.”
