SHAPE Summer Fest is back at Sandwell Valley Country Park

Sandwell Council today announces that the SHAPE Summer Fest 2022 will take place at Sandwell Valley Country Park on Saturday 16 July between 11am - 6pm.
It will be a day packed full of fun, food and entertainment with free activities young people and families.
Ten different activity zones will mean there will be something for everyone – from sports activities including football, climbing and cricket to live music performances, an open Mic and DJ sets as well as family activities such a young traders' market, theatre, circus skills and even a giant bubble workshop.
Importantly there will also be lots of Sandwell service providers to speak to about health & wellbeing as well as a Careers Expo for young people aged 16- 24 years.
The Albion Foundation will also be hosting Blind Dave Heeley’s Colour Run at the event.
Sandwell Council’s cabinet member for children and education, Councillor Simon Hackett said:
“It’s great to welcome SHAPE Summer Fest back to Sandwell Country Valley Park after last year’s festival was virtual and held online. I hope as many people as possible are able to come to meet friends, have fun and as well as learning about the services out there that can help them in their everyday lives.”
Cabinet member for Adults, Social Care and Health, Councillor Suzanne Hartwell, added:
“The SHAPE Summer Fest is a great opportunity for young people to come and have fun while getting advice on anything from careers to wellbeing.”
Chair of the SHAPE Youth Forum, Mohammed Al Hasan said:
“It’s been three years since the last SHAPE Summer Fest and I cannot wait for it to return. Looking forward to getting conversations going amongst young people at our debate station and seeing some live talent on the open mic. I encourage young people in Sandwell to come and join us”
The SHAPE Programme is designed to listen to children and young people in Sandwell and organises events and opportunities throughout the year for children and young people to engage in positive activities.
