Let’s get in the festive mood down at the farm.
That’s the message this Christmas at Sandwell Valley Country Park with four special festive events to choose from with something to suit the whole family.
Choose from Festive Farm at Forge Mill with a host of activities including games, trails and crafts as well as our 12 days of Christmas challenge or Bedtime Farm at Forge Mill, snuggle up for a bedtime story and say good night to the animals.
Festive Farm at Forge Mill
- Christmas bale trail – how many festive characters can you find around the farm and don’t forget to take your photo with each one;
- Star hunt in the straw maze – run through the maze and hunt for stars to crack the code, there’s a chocolate treat if you find them all;
- Festive crafts – make a farm wreath or Christmas decoration and a bug hotel and
- The 12 days of Christmas challenge – follow the clues to find the real stars of the show, get all 12 to find the secret code.
You can also win a free family ticket to Forge Mill Farm. Film your family singing the Forge Mill Farm 12 Days of Christmas song and share it on Facebook, the best video wins.
Dates are: Saturday 27/Sunday 28 November, Saturday 4/Sunday 5 December, Saturday 11/Sunday 12 December, Friday 17 December to Wednesday 22 December.
Tickets are: Adults (12 years and over) £3.50; Children (two years - 11 years) £5.50, Concessions for students, unemployed and over 60s - £3.50, Family ticket (two adults and up to three children) £17, (one adult and up to three children) £14, Under 2s free.
Times: 10am until 4pm, (Last entry 3pm).
Bedtime Farm at Forge Mill
- By all means come along in your PJs but do dress up warmly and don’t forget your coat, wellies and torch to explore the farm by night;
- Take on the straw maze in the dark;
- Say goodnight to all the animals and give some of them a supper treat before barn yard bedtime;
- Toast some marshmallows over the fire pit and enjoy some hot chocolate and warm apple juice with mulled wine and mice pies for the grownups and then
- Snuggle up under the blankets in our straw bale cosy corner for a bedtime story with your favourite animals.
Dates: Monday 20/Tuesday 21 and Wednesday 22 December from 4.30pm.

Santa at the Valley – Sandwell Park Farm
It wouldn’t be Christmas without a visit from Santa. Meet Santa in his grotto and say hello to his reindeer. You can enjoy a magic show and take part in party games and other interactive games and have fun in the snow showers.
Visit the small festive maze and take part in our fun trail around the walled garden, ranger crafts and make your own paper lantern.
Our Christmas shop will be open with lots of delicious festive food and drink.
Dates are: Saturday 4/Sunday 5 December; Saturday 11/Sunday 12 December; Saturday 18/Sunday 19 December and Monday 20/Tuesday 21 December.
Tickets are: Adults (12 years and over) £8, Children (two years – 11 years) £12, Concessions: students, unemployed and over 60s £7, Under 2s (with gift) £6, Under 2s no gift, free.
Festive evenings at Sandwell Valley
Enjoy a festive experience by night at Sandwell Valley with music, a choir and amazing evening entertainment. See the garden lit up and filled with entertainers including magic acts and fire eaters.
Arts, crafts and festive foods will be on sale from our festive stallholders, shop and tearoom including all your Christmas favourites.
There’s be ‘snow showers’ intermittently during the evening and Santa’s reindeer will be waiting to meet you in the yard.
You can also hang a bauble for a loved one who won’t be at the Christmas table this year, on one of our memory trees.
Dates are: Saturday 18/Sunday 19 December from 6pm-9.30pm.

Don’t forget, you can also get your Christmas tree, Midlands home-grown British trees sourced from within 35 miles.
Sandwell Council deputy leader, Councillor Maria Crompton, said: “It’s been another really tough year for all of us. Our events team and staff and Sandwell Valley have been working really hard to put on a packed programme of events for families, so everyone can join in and enjoy the festive mood.
Councillor Danny Millard, cabinet member for culture and tourism, added: “There really is something for everyone, with day time and evening events with different experiences to suit the whole family.
“Whether you are looking to visit Santa, buy your Christmas tree, spend an evening with our wonderful farm animals, enjoy Christmas crafts or experience an evening of great music and entertainment.”
A number of free tickets for each event are also being made available to looked after children, disability charity groups and other groups working with vulnerable children.
Please note these are Covid safe events and all visitors will be required to follow Covid event guidelines which are made clear on arrival and before entry. Anyone with Covid-19 symptoms should not attend.
