Leader announces launch of MySandwell App
Published 11th October 2021
Sandwell Council leader, Councillor Rajbir Singh today (Monday 11 October) announced the launch of a new MySandwell App on his 100th day in office as leader.
The new app will be available by the end of the year and will give residents a really easy way to contact and interact with council services. You will be able to log on to the app using the same log on as your mobile phone such as face or fingerprint recognition.
The first phase of the app is likely to include options to support clean streets, including reporting of fly-tipping, pot holes and broken street lights.
The app will complement the existing MySandwell website which is an online one-stop shop where you can already access these and many more council services, 24 hours a day via your smartphone, tablet, laptop or PC. Residents can also request repairs to council housing, apply for free school meals and even book an appointment to register a birth.
Council leader, Councillor Rajbir Singh said: “During my first 100 days as leader I have been out and about and listening to what residents want from their council. Having listened to feedback, I wanted to launch an app to give residents an even easier way to contact the council and interact with us.
“We will be launching this app later this year so that if people are out and about and see something they want to report to the council they can quickly do so using their mobile phone which should allow us to resolve the issue quickly and help towards my priorities of making Sandwell a cleaner and safer place.
“Residents are often our eyes and ears so in the meantime, I urge people to continue to use MySandwell to report issues online at www.sandwell.gov.uk/mysandwell.”
