Sandwell observes one-minute silence for HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh
Published 19th April 2021
On Saturday (17 April) at 3pm a national one-minute silence was observed for His Royal Highness Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.
The Mayor Councillor Dr Ann Jaron, along with Deputy Leader Councillor Maria Crompton and Chief Executive David Stevens, paid their respects outside Sandwell Council House in Oldbury.
The minute’s silence was timed to coincide with the beginning of the Duke’s funeral service.
People across Sandwell were invited to observe the one-minute silence wherever they were, in a safe way.
Thank you to everyone who signed the Sandwell Book of Condolence, which has now closed and will be sent to Her Majesty the Queen and the Royal Family.
