Safer 6 - Free Hate crime awareness training online

Sandwell Safeguarding Adults Board has launched a new eLearning package on Hate Crime as part of Safer 6: Hate Crime Awareness Week (10-18 October).
The introduction to Hate Crime - Level 1 is a basic awareness course developed in partnership with Dudley Safe and Sound and Sandwell Safeguarding Adults Board. The free Hate Crime training is available online or via the Sandwell Safeguarding Adults Board website.
The course has been designed for multi-agency staff and volunteers who are in contact with people who may need support on understanding hate crime and how to report it.

- Raise awareness of different types of Hate Crime
- To understand what indicators to look out for
- To understand how to respond to it.
The council’s dedicated Hate Crime webpage provides further information on what kind of crimes are hate crimes and what you can do to help victims of hate.
Sandwell Council Deputy Leader Councillor Maria Crompton said: “It is important that everyone is able to understand the basics of hate crimes and how to raise a concern so that appropriate actions can be taken”.
