Keep fit in Sandwell

There's loads on offer in Sandwell to help you keep fit. From leisure centres to outdoor gyms in our parks, there's something for everyone.

Leisure centres

We have leisure centres all around Sandwell looked after by our partners Sandwell Leisure Trust and Places for People.

You can sign up for membership online or pay as you go. Our centres offer fitness classes, gyms and some have swimming pools.

Swimming

Swimming is a great way to keep fit. We have six swimming pools in Sandwell and we offer free swimming if you're over the age of 60. There's also free swimming for children aged 16 and under during the school holidays.

Outdoor Gym Equipment We have lots of parks in Sandwell.

Sandwell Valley in West Bromwich is our flagship park which offers play areas, walking and cycling trails, two farms, high ropes from Closer to the Edge, BMX track and much more. It also has the largest free outdoor gym in the country.


Gym Disability

Fitness for people with disabilities

All of our leisure centres have facilities for people with disabilities. Portway Lifestyle Centre in Oldbury has been specifically designed with this in mind. It is a centre of excellence for people with disabilities.

Book a football or cricket pitch, or find your nearest park or playing field.

Having an allotment will not only provide you with your own home-grown produce it will help to keep you fit. We have lots of allotment plots all over Sandwell.
