What to do if you owe money to the council

If you fall behind with your rent or Council tax, please don’t ignore the reminders. 

Rent Arrears:

Do get in touch with the rents team on 0121 737 5148 to let us know that you are finding it hard to pay.  We will discuss steps that you might take to start to pay the money you owe. We will also put you in touch with the welfare rights team or one of the other free advice services in Sandwell. For further information visit rent arrears. If you are no longer a council tenant but still owe rent on your former council property contact 0121 737 5167/5366

Council tax arrears:

Please visit our web page payment arrangements where you can make arrangements to pay online. You can also apply for reductions, discounts and exemptions or contact our Customer Services team on 0121 368 1155. We will discuss steps that you might take to start to pay the money you owe. We will also put you in touch with the welfare rights team or one of the other free advice services in Sandwell.
