Step Way

Community Garden Project 

Stepway is a registered charity that offers a structured pathway for veterans needing support, facing challenges and adapting to civilian life.

The organisation work with the individuals helping them with counselling, mentoring and develop new skills and to reduce social isolation.

Stepway have received CIL funding to develop a Community Garden at the Salvation Army base in Oldbury. Which has helped bring together the wider community.

The Community Garden has helped people learn new skills such as growing their own food, cooking it and maintaining the site.

The Community Garden is open for all ages at free of cost.

The CIL funding has allowed Stepway to purchase items such as garden equipment, tools, sheds to which has helped set up the garden.

Stepway were awarded CIL funding of £4,250.00


Single Point Plus LTD

Heart of Oldbury Outdoor Play Zone

SinglePoint Plus is a recently launched Community Benefit Society based in Oldbury offering services to families in Sandwell.

The organisation offers family support, training, counselling/resilience programmes and enrichment activities for local families linked predominantly to primary schools.

SinglePoint Plus Limited applied for CIL funding for their new outside playground. The CIL funding has helped purchase new fencing around the perimeter of the play area.

The project offers a fully functional on-site service for families accessing the wraparound care and holiday provision. It has also enabled multiple community groups an opportunity to access the community centres outdoor space safely.

The CIL fund has purchased a new fence, gates, tarmac and astro surface to help create the safe space outside.

The amount of CIL funding received is £4,560.00

Options for Life

Let’s Get Active 

Options for Life is a well-established local organisation that provides a range of community-based workshops and skills sessions from  community hubs within Sandwell for adults with learning disabilities or autism.

Options for Life have applied for CIL funding to purchase Android tablets to help adults with learning difficulties and autism to get online information. This will support the completion of activities such as arts, and music, making GP appointments (with the help of support workers), playing online games, shopping, ordering takeaways, watching movies and many other activities that interest them. 

The aim of the sessions is to adopt a digital intervention system to communicate with the participants who are aged 18 and over

The CIL funding is planned to purchase Android Tablets and case covers.

Amount of CIL funding being requested is £507.70
