All applications for grants funded by Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) require a public consultation.  The applications will be posted on this page for 14 days so that the local community can comment on the proposal.

Oldbury

Project Name: Easy Access

Project Code: OLD010

Project Details:

Lion Farm Action Centre is a Registered Charity that serves the local the community. The aim is to improve the lives of local residents – economically, physically, mentally, health and wellbeing. They have been based at their current location for about 6 years. The organisation has been involved in putting on activities such as card crafts, indoor bowls, job club, dance, over 50’s friendship group etc.

The group have requested funding for a wooden built ramp with landslip strips (anti slip) to go at the front of the building to be attached to rails and raised decking and a handrail for the back of the Vicarage. As the building currently does not have disabled access.  

These ramps and rails will help with all of the visitors to safely enter and exit the building and encourage people to join and welcome new groups. 

Amount of CIL funding being requested is £3,000


Project Name: Boxing Equipment

Project Code: OLD09

Survey Duration: 24th May 2023 - 7th June 2023

Project Details:

Warley Boxing Club is an established local organisation that has been around since 1937. The community group is based at Warley Rugby and Boxing Club in Oldbury.

The boxing club runs every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 7-8pm with around 60 members attending. The club offers juniors boxing and amateur boxing training sessions with the aim of developing them to progress to fight in shows.

Warley Boxing Club is requesting funding for new boxing equipment. This will enable them to continue to offer their training sessions.

This equipment will help the junior boxers, but will also help attract new groups such as a women’s only group and disabled boxing sessions.

Amount of CIL funding being requested is £4,048.27


Tipton

Project Name:  Parent/Baby and Toddler Group

Project Code: TIP14

Sandwell Deaf Community Association (SDCA) is a registered charity, that has been running for 20 years. SDCA has more than over 200 service users across Sandwell, providing support to several deaf community groups, as well as a range of social and deaf related services.

SDCA have applied for CIL funding to set up a parent/baby and toddler Group for deaf children and/or adults at Brook Street Community Centre. The funding will provide items such as specialist sensory toys and learning resources.

This funding will allow SDCA the opportunity to put on a weekly parent and toddler group for the parents who are deaf, have deaf children or both. 

Amount of CIL funding being requested is £ 2,047.86.
