A new primary special school in Sandwell
Sandwell Council is inviting bids from proposers interested in developing a new primary special school in Sandwell. The school will cater for 126 children with special educational needs and disabilities with a focus on children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD). The age range will be from 5 to 11.
A specialist free secondary school for ASD pupils has already been agreed but there is a need for a primary equivalent as current specialist provision is already near to capacity.
The deadline for trust applications is 30 September 2019, after which applications will be assessed and shortlisted applicant trusts will be interviewed.
