Consultation of the Department for Transport’s “Statutory Taxi and Private Hire Vehicle Standards”
Why we are consulting
This consultation seeks feedback on Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council’s proposals to harmonise its policies and procedures in line with the Department for Transport’s Statutory and Private Hire Vehicle Standards published on 21 July 2020.
As a number of the Standards put forward by the Department of Transport are already in place in Sandwell, we will only be consulting on those areas that would require the existing policy to be changed. The Council must have regard to the requirements of this guidance and should only deviate from the recommendations where there is a compelling reason to do so.
