Council support for voluntary and community groups
The council values the role played by the voluntary and community sector in Sandwell and to enable them to thrive they provide a range of support:
- Discretionary rate relief
- Voluntary and Community Sector Funding Protocol 2019
- Council’s definition of the Voluntary and Community Sector
- Training
- Leases for voluntary and community organisations
All helping us to work together to deliver Vision 2030.
The council works very closely with Sandwell Council of Voluntary Organisations (SCVO). SCVO provide a wide range of support for voluntary and community groups in Sandwell, including the Vision 2030 Community Grants Programme, funded by the council.
Information about the Funding Protocol and the Sandwell Compact
Reviews are a normal part of grant funding – the VCS Funding Protocol 2019 includes a section on the council’s approach to reviews and grant agreements refer to monitoring and review. Reviews take place in different cycles, triggered by a range of factors. Further information on how we intend to approach the review process can be found in our Guidelines for officers leading on or participating in reviews of grants to voluntary organisations.
