Exhumation of cremated remains

On rare occasions families seek to have the remains of their loved ones exhumed from one of our cremetoria.

There are strict regulations that need to be adhered to in order for an exhumation to be carried out.

Families must apply for a licence from the Ministry of Justice before an exhumation can take place. This licence always carries a number of regulations to ensure the remains are exhumed safely and with reverence.

An exhumation can be expensive so we recommend contacting us on 0121 569 6701 to discuss the process before you submit an application form.

There is a list of Frequently Asked Questions about exhuming human remains on the Ministry of Justice website.
