We are happy to share news about a new project to support children with special educational needs in Sandwell. As part of this, Meadows School will create a satellite centre for Post 16 students to provide additional places for children with Education, Health and Care Plans.

The new Post 16 hub will be located at the Connor Education Centre on Connor Road in West Bromwich. This will help the main Meadows School campus on Dudley Road East, Oldbury, to admit more pupils at Key Stage 3. The existing Connor Centre has been used as office space by staff from Inclusive Learning Services, and it will now be refurbished to become a suitable learning environment.

The refurbishment will include four new classrooms, a dining area, storage and other support spaces. An external drop-off zone will also be created for easy access. The project is being carried out by Speller Metcalfe, who was appointed through the Construction West Midlands Framework. The work is scheduled to be completed by mid-September.

This project aims to provide better educational opportunities for students with special needs and to improve access to education in the area.
