Bromwich Hall, also known as the Manor House, is a very special historic building, recognised as a Grade I listed medieval hall house from the early 14th century. Only 2.5% of listed buildings in the UK have this top level of protection, highlighting Bromwich Hall’s significance and uniqueness.

Bromwich Hall has been part of our local history for nearly 700 years. It was carefully restored in the late 1950s and has undergone minor repairs since then. Over time, some parts of the building, such as the timber frame, roof, and rainwater goods, are beginning to show signs of wear and tear.

To address this, Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council is collaborating with experts including conservation architects, engineers, and Historic England to develop a comprehensive plan for necessary repairs. The primary aim is to restore and protect Bromwich Hall meticulously, ensuring it remains a treasured part of our heritage for future generations.

We are also seeking support from Historic England to help fund a portion of this important conservation work. Once the detailed plans are finalised and agreed upon, we will commence the repair process, safeguarding Bromwich Hall’s historic fabric and structural integrity.

We are committed to keeping you informed about the progress of this conservation project. Thank you for your continued interest in preserving Bromwich Hall.
