Project Name:  Survival Project

617 Air Scouts is a voluntary organisation under the wider register charity of scouting. They support children and young adults through a programme of activities including camping, kayaking, coding, parachuting, gliding and regularly weekly sessions where they teach new life skills.

One of the core benefits of scouting is to create opportunities for young people to go ‘back-to-basics’. The organisation identified that whilst they organise regular camps each year, they do not have the resources to run ‘back-to-basics’ camps.

617 Air Scouts have applied for CIL funding to purchase equipment including water filters, outdoor campfire facilities, hand tools, camping gas heaters solar generators and emergency tents.

This new equipment will allow them to run an additional 3 camps per year which will create the opportunity for young people to learn new skills. Additionally, the equipment will be used by all ages in weekly sessions to practise and prepare for the real camps.
