| Summary of services | When someone is referred to us, we meet with them to see if we can be of help. If we can help, we will work with the person on a recovery programme. The recovery programme is designed with three aims in mind: we hope to reduce eating disorder symptoms; help with physical recovery and encourage psychological change. Our range of staff helps us to achieve these aims. Working in our team we have a dietitian, mental health nurse, occupational therapist, psychologist, and systemic family therapist. We can give support in one-to-one sessions, group sessions, or both, depending on someone's need. Support includes psychological approaches like psycho-education and cognitive behavioural therapy. We also provide practical and creative activities for someone to get involved in. How long the recovery programme lasts depends on the complexity of the eating disorder. We also work with carers and health and community organisations to help people learn more about eating disorders. |
