Who is the service for?Young people who are resident in Sandwell or attending a school in Sandwell aged 13 to 19 (up to 25 for young people with learning difficulties and disabilities) who need additional support to ensure that they are able to participate in education, employment or training post 16.

Summary of servicesConnexions Sandwell provides a FREE service to support young people who live in Sandwell:

- aged 16+ needing help to enter education, training or employment or who are in danger of ‘dropping out’ of 6th form, college or other learning opportunities

- needing support to continue to participate in learning as they reach the end of year 11, 12 or 13 in school or college:

- who have Learning Difficulties and Disabilities

- who may need extra support to participate in Post 16 learning because they are in one of the ‘vulnerable’ groups – pregnant, young parent, young carer, young offender or are ‘looked after children’

- who are from families receiving Sandwell Council ‘Early Help’ Services

- who are Home Educated by their parents/carers
