Business rates payers consulted on budget

Published 9th January 2019

Business owners are being invited to have their say on how they want their rates to be spent on in Sandwell.

Those paying business rates, more formally known as Non-Domestic Rates, are being asked to put forward suggestions or speak at a cabinet meeting at Sandwell Council House on Wednesday 6 February at 5pm.
Business owners are being asked to give feedback to the council on its proposals for expenditure for the next financial year, including how money is spent, where they think it should be spent, and how services for businesses could be improved.
Councillor Steve Eling, leader of Sandwell said: “We want business owners in Sandwell to have a say on how we spend these rates.
“We want to help to make Sandwell a more prosperous place so it’s important we get the spending right to help current businesses thrive and encourage others to come to Sandwell.”
Anyone who wishes to get involved in the consultation, or attend the meeting, should email or call 0121 569 3040.
