Sandwell housing scheme up for national award

A housing scheme built in Sandwell has won through to the finals of a prestigious national building awards scheme.

The Regis Park housing development in Rowley Regis, built by Countryside Properties is a finalist in the ‘best high volume housing’ category at the Local Authority Building Control (LABC)  Build in Quality Awards.

The scheme was nominated by Sandwell’s Building Control team that approved the Building Regulations for the development.

The estate in Doulton Road which features three and four-bedroom properties for sale, was the West Midlands’ winner at the regional heats of the awards in June -  a significant result in itself as the West Midlands region includes the West Midlands conurbation plus Staffordshire, Warwickshire and Shropshire.

Councillor Paul Moore, Sandwell’s cabinet member for regeneration, said:“It’s great news that a development built in Sandwell, approved by our own building control team and nominated by them,  has been recognised at a regional level and is now been showcased nationally at this prestigious awards scheme.

Councillor Susan Eaves, Rowley Regis town chair, added: "I'm delighted that this attractive and popular housing development has won through to the finals of the awards. We wish Countryside Properties every success."

The winners of the Build in Quality awards will be announced in London this Friday, 9 November.
