Partner needed for new secondary school in Sandwell
Published 20th September 2017
Sandwell Council is searching for partners interested in developing a new secondary school in West Bromwich.
As pupil numbers continue to grow in primary schools the demand for secondary places is set to increase in the next few years.
In preparation for this, Sandwell has identified a highly desirable school site on Kelvin Way, West Bromwich which can be developed to provide 750 new secondary school places.
The council is inviting applications from proposers who will be able to deliver high quality education for young people in the Sandwell.
Councillor Simon Hackett, Sandwell’s cabinet member for children’s services said: "We have a very good record in making sure parents and carers get their top choices when applying for school places. This school will help us to continue this and provide the best education for our young people.
"We hope the school will be up and running as early as September 2019.”
Further information and application details are available from the Sandwell New School webpage or by calling 0121 569 8282.
The closing date for receipt of applications is 12noon on Friday 20 October 2017.
