Families enjoy fun-filled sessions thanks to 'Friends'

Children and families enjoyed fun-filled summer holidays - thanks to help from the Sandwell Federation of Library Friends.
Each individual friends group raises money for their local library to provide activities throughout the year and the summer the Federation, which represents all individual library friends in the borough, helped to provide a programme of sessions delivered by professional entertainers.
They used funding they received from the council to provide craft materials for all libraries, for library staff to run craft based activities and story-time sessions.
Councillor Richard Marshall, cabinet member for leisure, said: "The Friends do a great job and during the summer holidays they helped libraries to improve the quality of fun activities at our venues.
"The work is important because it helps us to provide free activities in all our local libraries which makes them more accessible to all families with children."
