Free family fun at your local library this half-term

Published 17th October 2016

Sandwell libraries have a packed programme of events and activities for families this half-term.

From crafts to film shows, mini-beast encounters to hula hooping, there is something for everyone this October.

Some of the highlights are:

Visitors to Cradley Heath Library on Saturday 22 October can come face-to-face with a number of birds of prey as Hawks 'N' More will be flying in at 11am. Tickets are available from the library.

On Wednesday 26 October, Hamstead Library is the venue for beastly goings-on when the Sandwell Storyplayers bring stories to life for children aged 4+.

Friday 28 October sees Wednesbury Library host theatre at 3.30pm. Oddsocks Theatre present their hilarious production of the Bard’s Best Bits…of Romeo and Juliet.

Calling all bakers! Would-be bakers are encouraged to visit Great Bridge Library’s  Bake Off Competition for under 16s, so why not get baking and bring in your cake to be judged from 2.30pm on Friday 28 October.

Councillor Richard Marshall, Sandwell Council's cabinet member for leisure, said: "Each library will be hosting a range of activities, so why not make the library your first destination this half-term and discover the buzz at your local library?"
