Last call for nominations for Changing Our Lives Awards

Published on 12th September 2012

People have just a few days left to nominate people with learning disabilities across the Black Country for this year's Changing Our Lives Awards.

The three awards, for which nominations must be entered by Monday 17 September at the Changing Our Lives website under 'Changing Our Lives Awards 2012', are:

  • Love and Laughter - this award is in memory of community champion Liz Mabley and celebrates the achievement and commitment of an inspiring volunteer in Birmingham and the Black Country.

  • Darren Selman - Darren was a paid member of staff at Changing Our Lives and this award is for a Black Country man who has made great strides towards independence in his life.

  • Frances Painter - Frances was a founder member of Changing Our Lives and this award is for a Black Country woman who has made great progress towards independence in her life.

The awards will be presented on Friday 9 November at the final of this year's Spotlight 2012 event, a live music and entertainment celebration of the artistic talent of people with learning disabilities in Sandwell, Wolverhampton, Dudley and Walsall.
