Go batty in Haden Hill Park

Published on 20th August 2012

Nature lovers can go batty later this month at Sandwell's Haden Hill Park.

A series of bat walks are being set up to take place around the park at the end of August and throughout September.

The walks will start with a presentation talk about bats followed by a walk around the park in the dark. At the end refreshments will be provided.

The Friends of Haden Hill House are providing bat detectors so that those taking part can hear the noises they make and identify the species of bat.

The walks were held last year and proved to be very popular. As a result booking is essential as places are limited.

Tickets are £3.50 for adults and £2.50 for children. This will include a cup of coffee/tea/juice and biscuits.

All of the money raised will go to the Friends of Haden Hill Estate.

Anyone wanting to book a place should ring Amy Robinson on 01384 569444.

The walks are taking place  on the following dates and times:

*  Friday August 31, 7:30pm - 9:30pm

* Wednesday September 5, 7:30pm - 9:30pm

* Friday September 14, 7pm - 9pm

* Friday 28th September 28, 7pm - 9pm

There is a possibility that extra dates will be arranged if the demand for places requires it. Those taking part are warned that the walks will take place in the dark and will involve hills.
