There are just a few weeks left to vote for your favourite book in the BIG Sandwell Read 2012.

The final date to cast your vote is September 10 and the winners will be announced later in the month.

The BIG Sandwell Read is a borough-wide reading promotion, in which 12 adult novels and 12 books for children and teenagers have been selected to feature in a special campaign.

It has been running in libraries from February to September in which readers can vote for a winner in each category.

You can vote by going online at www.sandwell.gov.uk/bigread or pick up a Big Read leaflet and hand in the voting form at any library in Sandwell or the mobile library.

Some of the great authors of contemporary children's and adult fiction are featured in the Big Read.

They are: Roald Dahl, Julia Donaldson, Anthony Horowitz, Michael Morpurgo, Jacqueline Wilson, Frank Cottrell Boyce, Jeff Kinney, Andy Stanton, Robert Muchamore, Martyn Bedford, Neil Gaiman, Cathy Cassidy, Lee Child, Sophie Kinsella, Khaled Hosseini, Emma Donoghue, Henning Mankell, Sophie Hannah, Katheryn Stockett, Conn Iggulden, Maggie O'Farrell, Eowyn Ivey, Roger Ellory and classic author, Conan Doyle.

Cabinet member for library services Councillor Linda Horton said: "Reading is a marvellous past-time and can bring hours of enjoyment.

"I would urge out library users to take part in this campaign," she added.
