Mayor plants oak trees to mark Queen's Diamond Jubilee

The Mayor and Mayoress of Sandwell have planted an oak tree in parks in all six of the borough's towns to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.

Oak tree planting at Dartmouth Park, left to right, Friends of Darmouth Park member Roger Stopford, the Mayor Councillor Keith Davies, Mayoress Councillor Pat Davies and Friends of Dartmouth Park members Carol Hartill, Sue Slater and Betty Finney.The trees have been planted at the following parks:

  • Dartmouth Park, West Bromwich
  • Brunswick Park, Wednesbury
  • Victoria Park, Tipton
  • Haden Hill Park, Cradley Heath
  • Barnford Park, Oldbury
  • Victoria Park, Smethwick

Friends groups and council representatives have also attended the tree planting ceremonies.

The Mayor Councillor Keith Davies said the trees would be a lasting tribute to the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.
