Save the date - Sandwell Community Show

Sandwell Community Show organisers are preparing for crowds of up to 40,000 visitors for this year's August Bank Holiday extravaganza in Sandwell Valley Country Park.

A boy enjoying the outdoorsEntrance is free as usual and the action-packed programme for Sunday and Monday 28 and 29 August includes many traditional favourites as well as new and exciting attractions.

The Sandwell Community Show committee is pulling out all the stops for another successful event.

Beacon Radio is presenting the stage, and the arena has a varied programme of good family entertainment. This includes Jive Pony, a strength display with Amanda and Tony Brutus, West Country Falconry and dance displays by Avia Dance Academy and Enhance School of Dance.

There is also the annual Horticultural and Midland Leek Show, a craft marquee, sports marquee with physical activities, 5 x 30 roadshow, community marquee,  children's play marquee, Circus Fiesta and Pat Collins Fun Fair.

Councillor Derek Rowley, Sandwell Council's cabinet member for neighbourhood services, said: "The annual Sandwell Community Show is a highlight on our events calendar and this year's event is once again free entry for all.

"Everyone is welcome and we are all looking forward to another wonderful show.

"I urge people to save the date in their diaries now for what will be spectacular fun."

A regular bus service will run from West Bromwich Bus Station, situated opposite the Metro Line, down to the Showground. This is provided every 20 minutes on Sunday and 10 minutes on Monday from 10am until 6.40pm.

Parking is free in the town centre on the Sunday and usual car parking fee on the Monday.

People can park closer to the Showground in Dartmouth Park at £3 per car.

There will be a designated area for disabled people, with shop mobility close at hand with wheelchair provision.
