West Bromwich area action plan

The Government has recently published the National Planning Policy Framework (The Framework) and Planning Policy for Traveller Sites. If you are a representor and wish to make representations on the matters raised in these documents as far as they relate to the Sandwell Site Allocations and Delivery DPD or West Bromwich AAP examinations, please submit your comments to the Programme Officer by Monday 14 May 2012. Comments may be sent by post or email and, where relevant, will be taken into account by the Inspector before he finalises his report to the Council.

Please note that a representor is anyone who has made a representation to either the Sandwell Site Allocations and Delivery DPD or West Bromwich AAP publication documents

It is intended to develop the role of West Bromwich as a Strategic Centre for growth within the region and subregion.

It is envisaged that over the next 10-15 years, the centre will experience significant growth and investment. A number of major proposals are already planned which will bring forward significant change in the town centre.

The West Bromwich Area Action Plan (AAP) will assist in taking these forward to delivery as well as identifying new opportunities for continued growth in the wider area. In doing so there will be a review of the existing strategy and policy that currently applies to the town, including the strategies and activities of the Council's partners that will facilitate delivery within the statutory planning system.

WBAAP Examination

The West Bromwich Area Action Plan was submitted to the Secretary of State on 31 October 2011. An examination is scheduled to take place early 2012. Proposed changes to the Publication document and the Consultation Statement can be viewed by clicking on the links below.
