Sandwell Council

View planning applications in Sandwell

Our online planning system provides access to the council's planning applications database.

The facility allows you to view key information relating to current and historic applications including associated plans and documents. You can monitor the progress of an application, submit comments about the application, search a constantly updated list of applications received and decided each week, view details of many historic applications (post 1st April 1974) and view property details by reference to a map.

To find a planning application

There are a number of ways to search and retrieve planning information.

Find a planning application by reference number

You can search for a planning application by its application reference (eg. DC/06/00001) or use the filters in the search form to help you find an application.

Find a planning application by weekly list

The "weekly list" provides a list of all the planning applications either validated or decided by the local authority in a given week.

Find a planning application by property search

You can search for property details using a combination of property name, number, postcode and street.

Commenting on planning applications

If you wish to comment on a planning application, you may do so by emailing planning@sandwell.gov.uk

Alternatively, you can visit our online planning system to view the application documentation and comment here by selecting the "Submit Comment" option at the top of the screen at any time when viewing the application information.

About commenting

A planning application goes through a number of different stages while being processed by the local authority. These different stages are associated with different application status categories. At different stages in the application process, the application may or may not be available for comment.

Only if the planning application is valid, is it possible to comment on an application. In our online planning system, if an application is not valid, it is not possible to comment on an application. Each local authority is responsible for deciding when an application is valid or not for comment. If an application is not available for comment it may be due to one or more of the following factors: the application's current status, overall expiry date and target date.
