Coronavirus – donate or volunteer to help Sandwell residents
Can you help?
We are undertaking a huge operation to make sure the most vulnerable people in Sandwell have access to what they need during the Covid-19 pandemic.
We have already received lots of kind offers of help, but we need more.
Can you help us to keep in touch with or help deliver items to households that are self-isolating or anything else we may need? We will still ask you observe the new government guidance on keeping away from others.
All volunteers will be given advice on infection control. This includes not going into the home of the person you are dropping shopping off to and washing/sanitising your hands regularly.
Of course anyone who is volunteering will withdraw and self-isolate if they experience any relevant symptoms - the risk is very low and outweighs the risk of not using volunteers and leaving people stranded without support in their own homes.
For businesses - can you donate PPE?
Tattoo shops, nail and beauty salons, manufacturers and other businesses who use PPE but who are currently not operating or who can spare some are being asked to give what they can.
The PPE is needed to protect council staff while they go about their jobs caring for people in their homes, helping the vulnerable and delivering supplies to the people most in need.
For other businesses
Can you donate other supplies for those who are self-isolating? Can you help us provide period products? Are you able to help us deliver to households who need support? Do your employees have some time where they can help us?
We will consider any offer of help.
We are providing care packages of essential items and other services to those who most need them. You can donate money to help us care for our vulnerable residents in Sandwell.
Any amount, small or large will go straight to helping those who most need it.
