Numbers of children and young people in Sandwell with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)

As of January 2018 there were 59806 children attending schools (including Pupil Referral Units) in Sandwell. Of these 7389 have SEND but do not have an Education, Health and Care Plan or Statement of Special Educational Need. A further 1555 children have either a statement of special educational needs or an Education, Health and Care Plan. This represents 2.6% of the school population which is 0.3% below the national average.
