Residents' parking permits

Residents' only parking stops non-residents parking in areas where this has become a problem for the people who live there. Most residents' parking schemes are in streets close to shopping areas.

People who live or work in an area where there is a residents' parking scheme need to buy a permit to park there.

Apply for or renew a permit

If you live or work within a residents' parking scheme area, you can download an application form for a permit.

Documents you need to supply:

  • The vehicle insurance schedule (not the certificate) for the vehicle or the log book (known as the V5C), and:
  • Two utility bills for your address from the following: annual council tax bill or gas, electricity or water bills (utility bills must be dated in the past three months)

Return the completed form and documents requested to the address shown on the form with a cheque, or bring the completed form to the office and pay by cash or card.

Please note that there is a £12 charge for replacement of a residents parking permit.

Please note that there is a £7 Special Delivery postage charge for season tickets, if they are not collected in person. We cannot be accountable for postage delays, so permits should be applied for at least 7 days in advance to ensure receipt in time for the relevant month.
