Regular groups and activities
Sandwell Museums Art Group - Wednesbury Museum and Art Gallery, Tuesday Group - Join us between 10am and 2pm and become one of our group of amateur artists. Many people who have joined the group have never painted before. This is not a class but there is a member of staff who will support and help you develop your skills. The group work in oils and watercolours but also tries out other media, undertake trips and most importantly have a good chat. £5 per session to include paint, use of brushes, tea and coffee. Spaces are limited so please call to see if there are any available spaces, to go on the waiting list or to find out more - 0121 556 0683
The Gardening Group 10am-1pm - Oak House Museum - Get active and meet new people, join our gardening group at the Oak House and help us to transform and maintain the grounds into a space appropriate to the 1600s with planting which the Turtons would have recognised in the 1600s. You don't need to know anything about gardening and you can do as little or as much as you like. Tools provided - just wear appropriate clothing. Community Groups at Wednesbury Museum - Join us on a Tuesday as a number of community groups and activities take place. There is ideal for all meeting as well as mindfulness and jewellery making, knitting group etc designed for those under adult social care. Call for group leaders details (these are not run by the museum itself)
Happy Crafters: Craft and chatter. The Manor House. Every Tuesday from April, 10am-1pm- The Manor House Museum, Are you a crafty person who loves meeting new people? Are you a sewer, a knitter or an embroiderer, a felter, or general crafter? Perhaps you make jewellery, enjoy felting or simply appreciate a good scrapbook. You've heard of knitter natter groups well this is craft and chatter! Whatever your talent, sit within our social circle and become a Happy Crafter at The Manor House Museum, getting together with likeminded people, completing activities you’ll love! £1.00 per person, includes light refreshments. This is a self-led community group and all materials and equipment should be provided by yourself.
A small amount of sewing machines will be available from us on site. Call us on 0121 588 2985 to register your interest.

Natty Knitters - Join our fortnightly knitting group at Haden Hill House and knit or undertake crafts and have a cuppa in the surroundings of this fabulous old building. 10:30am-12:30pm call for more details on 01384 569 444
Garden Maintenance Group: The 1st Wednesday of every month starting April, 10am-1pm, Could you spare a few hours a month towards the upkeep of the Manor House grounds? Our 13th Century grounds require on-going care to keep them at a high standard so they can be enjoyed by all of our many visitors, and we need your help to do this! Come and help and become part of a passionate and friendly team! All basic tools will be provided as well as light refreshments. Areas of maintenance will include: - The Moat - Car Park, - Pathways - Herb Garden, Call us on 0121 588 2985 to register your interest.

Do it yourself - check our our regular 'do it yourself' sessions at the Manor House where you can make your own soaps, creams and bath bombs etc - visit our what's on page to find out what's coming up.
Nifty Knitters –Oak House Museum. 11am-1pm. Come and join in our popular knitters and craft group - bring your knitting, crocheting or any other crafts you would like to try with you, get advice from others in the group, have a good old natter and a cuppa - £1 per session. Just turn up!
Special Events and Activities
Sandwell Museums host a wide variety of activities for adults throughout the year. These include theatre, live music, afternoon tea, talks, tours, walks and themed events, arts and craft activities, 'have a go' sessions for things such as Yoga etc For more details visit our events listing page.

Join our Friends groups and become a volunteer - Join us, be inspired and get involved.
Most of our museum sites have a 'Friends' group. Without these groups of volunteers we wouldn't be able to run our service. Becoming a friend of one of our museums enabled you to get involved with us in a number of ways -whatever suits you.
- Help out and volunteer at our events and activities at weekends or in the week
- Help to run our tea rooms and provide a great service to our visitors
- Help to fundraise and gain grants for events and projects at our sites
- Just to support us and our work
