Our collections

School records

Girls at school camp, 1928We hold records of many local schools and colleges, including pupil admission registers and head teachers' log books, which record daily events at the school. All of our school archives have been catalogued and you can search the catalogue on the Black Country History website.

We also hold records of the school boards of the six towns of Sandwell, which can include information about teachers employed at local schools.

Because school records may contain personal information about living individuals there is limited access to records less than 100 years old. Please contact us for further information.
