Sandwell Valley Country Park
You are sure to find something to do in Sandwell Valley Country Park. It is an award-winning Green Flag park and a great place to spend the day.
Sandwell Valley Country Park is in the heart of the West Midlands, just one mile from West Bromwich town centre and a few minutes drive from Junction 1 of the M5.
The country park is open from 7.30am until dusk throughout the year.
Our address is Sandwell Valley Country Park, Salters Lane, West Bromwich, West Midlands, B71 4BG.
The two main attractions at the country park are our two farms - where you can meet animals, enjoy farm-themed activities and school holiday sessions.
Sandwell Park Farm is a fully restored working Victorian farm. Grazing meadows, a traditional farmyard, walled kitchen gardens, Grade II listed buildings, a small museum and award-winning tea rooms provide a perfect day out.
The Visitor Centre acts as the gateway to the Forge Mill Lake and Swan Pool areas of Sandwell Valley and the RSPB nature reserve. Forge Mill is also the centre of the farming operation within the Country Park where you can see a wide variety of the livestock that live in the Country Park.
Finding somewhere for a quiet walk is easy in Sandwell Valley Country Park whether you are a keen rambler or just want to go for a walk with the dog or family. There are 660 acres to walk round and you can go for a quiet stroll in pleasant surroundings through woods, farmland or by pools and streams.
If you're looking for somewhere to go for a family bike ride, Sandwell Valley Country Park has good access and car parks. You can bring your own bikes or hire them here, and ride for miles or simply ride from home if you're close enough.
We have a fantastic adventure playground with climbing nets, a suspension bridge and a high-speed zip wire here for children to enjoy free of charge. The high ropes aerial assault course is currently closed, we hope to have it open under a new operator in the late summer.
Birds all year round, winter ducks, geese and swans and summer warblers plus passage birds - visit the RSPB website for details of what birds and wildlife can be seen within Sandwell Valley Country Park and find out opening times for their visitor centre.
Stay safe in Sandwell Valley - stay out of open water.
