National Volunteers Week 1st - 7th June

Every year the first week of June is devoted to a national celebration of volunteering. The local celebrations were led by the Volunteer Centre Sandwell.

The week got off to a flying start at West Bromwich Town Hall with the Centre's annual volunteer awards. These celebrated the achievements of hard working volunteers within many different organisations across the borough.

This was followed by a successful volunteer recruitment event in partnership with the Library Service at Blackheath Library. The event promoted the benefits of volunteering and encouraged volunteers to support their local libraries.

The celebrations ended with a fun filled Volunteer Quiz at West Bromwich Town Hall where volunteers competed for the title of the smartest team in Sandwell.

Make A Difference

The celebrations may be over, but Sandwell's volunteers continue to make a difference working with a wide range of organisations across borough for the benefit of their local communities.

If you would like to join them (no matter how much or now little time you have to spare you too can make a difference) why not give the Volunteer Centre a call on 0121 544 8326 and they will help you find the volunteer role that's right for you.
