Jobs, apprenticeships and work experience for young people
We want to help more young people find work and training opportunities. Sandwell Council's employment and skills team Think Sandwell will support you to get into work, education or training.
We’re supporting local businesses to take on apprentices and staff by helping them find funding towards the cost of a young person’s wages.
For young people: Get help finding a job or apprenticeship
If you’re aged 16 to 24 and not in education, training or employment and live in Sandwell, we’ll help you get a job or an apprenticeship with a local business or the council.
If you're aged 16 to 29 we can also help you find a job by supporting you to improve your skills - check out the Black Country Impact project.
Get work experience with the council
If you're aged between 14 and 24 and you live or study in Sandwell, we can offer you work experience in all sorts of areas - including marketing, ICT, finance, legal, construction, architecture, working outdoors, general admin and much more.
For businesses: Take on an apprentice or young person and get help with wages
If you’re a business interested in taking on an apprentice or young member of staff, we’ll match you up with a suitable person interested in your area of business. We'll also help you to find funding towards their wages for up to one year.
