Getting a best start in life
If children have a healthier and happier childhood, they are more likely to go on to have healthy and happy lives.
What's going on?
We work with various organisations so parents can access FREE support and advice to help them look after and develop their children.
Children centres - there are various children centres in Sandwell, and they are there to help and support young families. They run lots of sessions for parents to be, and then parents with young families.
Health Visitors - are specially trained nurses who support and educate families from pregnancy through to a child's fifth birthday.
School nurses - are based across Sandwell and work with young people in the School setting.
Breastfeeding network - offer support to families in organised antenatal classes, home visits and support groups. They can help mums with getting to grips with breastfeeding, and can be contacted via text on 07505 775357.
Healthy Sandwell has lots of support aimed at parents and children. This could be support in getting more active or signing up for free weight management sessions. If you want to find out more about what Healthy Sandwell can offer your family visit their website or speak to the team on 0800 011 4656 or 0121 569 5100.
