Privacy notices - local authority

Privacy Notices

To meet the requirements of the Data Protection Act 1998, schools need to issue a privacy notice to pupils and/or parents summarising the information held about pupils, why it is held and the third parties to whom it may be passed on.

Privacy notices must be issued by schools to new learners: existing learners do not need to receive a copy but must be made aware by the school of where a revised copy can be found.  Please contact your school for information about where to find their privacy notice.

Local authorities are also required to produce a privacy notice to explain how they use the data that they hold.
