Providence Place office development

West Bromwich Building Society

Providence Place will provide West Bromwich town centre with state-of-the-art office facilities.

The development, next to one of the main routes into West Bromwich, is the first new office of its kind in the town since the 1970s. It is expected to generate tens of millions of pounds in new investment for West Bromwich and create hundreds of new jobs for a wide range of skills.

The first part of the scheme is Number 1 Providence Place, a 75,000 square feet building let to BT. The building was completed in October 2011, with an opening ceremony held on the 7 February 2012 and has created hundreds of new jobs.

Additional office buildings will be built as part of the Providence Place development, and on the 30 November 2012 West Bromwich Building Society announced that it would be relocating its head quarters from West Bromwich High Street to a new building on Providence Place. The new head quarters will accommodate 500 staff and the most up to date technology for a financial services company and stands to add to the revitalisation of West Bromwich. Ground works got underway in December 2013 and the new building is expected to be complete by early 2015.

Additional office buildings at Providence Place will:

  • provide up to 170,000 square feet of office accommodation for West Bromwich
  • generate £80 million in new investment
  • create hundreds of new jobs and training opportunities.
