The main reception at Sandwell Council House, Oldbury, will be closed from 1pm on Tuesday 21 May due to Annual Council. The reception will re-open as normal at 9am on Wednesday 22 May. Access council services online →

The Coroner investigates unexplained, unexpected and unnatural deaths.

The opening hours of the Coroner's Office are Monday to Wednesday 8am to 4pm, Thursday 9am to 4pm and Friday 8am to 3.30pm.

Hospital, GP and register office referrals within the Black Country

Hospitals, GPs and register offices must refer deaths using the coroner’s web portal.
Any attachments, such as Pervious Medical History/Reports, need to be added at the time of the referral using the ADD FILE facility located at the end of the referral. You are able to attach further documents after you have sent the death referral by logging back into the Portal and viewing your death referral and you will see the ADD FILE facility, documents can continue to be attached until the Coroner has closed the matter.
