View planning applications
Our online planning applications facility allows you to view key information relating to current applications including associated plans and documents. You can monitor the progress of an application and submit comments about the application.
Apply for planning permission
If you build something which needs planning permission without getting permission first, you may be forced to put things right later. For a convenient way of submitting your planning application we accept online submissions in association with the Planning Portal.
Building consultancy and regulations
The Building Regulations set standards for the design and construction of buildings, primarily to ensure the safety and health for people in or around those buildings, but also for energy conservation and access to and about buildings.
Planning advice
We provide a full range of planning services to Sandwell residents and to developers investing in the Borough including; pre-application advice, the processing of planning applications and dealing with appeals.
Planning policy
Strategic planning and research along with local plans provides the planning policy framework for Sandwell and the six towns within. It also set out the general policies which application for development will be judged against.
Listed buildings
A listed building is a building that has been placed on the Statutory List of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest. The list is created by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport on the advice of English Heritage.
Land charges
Buying a house? Your solicitor will make a search of the Council's records to ensure there are no hidden surprises, such as motorways at the bottom of your garden or outstanding Notices requiring you to take action to remedy an earlier wrong doing.
Building regulation fees and charges
There is a scheme for recovery document which explains how our fees have been calculated and our application processes. If you are in any doubt, contact Building Consultancy who will be happy to advise.
