We are here to collect and preserve the history of Sandwell. We hold original archive documents, maps, photographs, newspapers and books on the local area. Use our online catalogue to search archives and museums across the Black Country.

Sandwell's museums, historic houses and galleries are full of surprises - most are free to visit, and provide a host of different activities and experiences for you to discover. With so many attractions and events, you are sure to have a surprisingly great day out.

If you are researching your family history we can help you. We hold a wide range of resources you can use to trace people who lived in Sandwell. Our friendly and knowledgeable staff will also be happy to advise you even if your family came from elsewhere.
