Newton lies in the West Bromwich town of Sandwell, with a population of 12,145. The ward is represented by 3 members of the council. West Bromwich town also consists of Charlemont with Grove Vale, Great Barr with Yew Tree, Greets Green and Lyng, Hateley Heath and West Bromwich Central.
